Hello there. This is Cheryl here. I wanted to wrap up this final newsletter if you like or final episode around 2018 with a video of the lessons I've learned this year. This is one episode that I actually made notes because there's so many things that have happened and I wanted to just summarise it into five lessons that I've learned this year.
As some of you know, I have taken a year and a half of part sabbatical. I've cut down on my workload and I've turned down a lot of social events, etc. I was in the middle of looking at what I really want to do. I just turned 50 this year, so that's one big lesson. Turn 50 this year and you look back at how far you've come, but you also look forward as to what's the next phase going to be like. That's my context. I cut back on my work. I took a year of reflection, part reflection also, but still working with some of my clients.
It's been a very unusual year. I want to just set the context. This is the year I became a single mom....
June 17 2018, we celebrate Father’s Day. Each day I am thankful for my dad. I am forever grateful that he is healthy and actively supporting others in their lives first as an educator in his younger days and now as a friend to his community.
This Father’s Day weekend, I hope you'll bring to mind someone who has shaped your life in a positive, beautiful way. Reach out to them. Write an email, a letter or a post about it and share a Facebook note. Let your note to them be up-lifting.
Time waits for no one. Brings to mind, 1997, September. My dad was hospitalised and being prepared for his heart surgery. I had for the first time thoughts about life, death, meaning and purpose, regrets, joy, what makes life worth living and what I want to leave behind.

I received a very awesome question this week and the question has to do with how can I become a high performer? I love, love, love this question because I think all of us have the potential to be a high performer, but first of all, what does it all mean?
High performer is different from a peak performer. A peak performer is one, you know, you peak on one day and then you crash on the rest of the days. A high performer is one who consistently delivering exceedingly good results over a long period of time. Wouldn’t you like to be one? A high performer who’s an achiever delivering consistently over a long period of time exceedingly great results?
I've always been a firm believer of flexibility at work. Hence it's not surprising when I heard that my friend, Gina Romeo is embarking on a huge project to impact the way remote work is done by developing in collaboration with others an eco-system where entrepreneurs/organisations can find, engaged and work with talented women on a location independent basis.
